Peace Education Scotland is pleased to announce a chance for schools to host a new exhibition detailing the history of the peace movement in Scotland over more than sixty years!
Scotland: A Peace of History was put together by members and volunteers for the Scottish Campaign for Nuclear Disarmament to mark the sixty year anniversary of the first meetings of the Scottish CND group in 1958. Funded by the Heritage Lottery Fund, the Peace of History exhibition is a chance to view the development of this pressure group over a period spanning decades. The exhibition consists primarily of a timeline that will walk you through the history of the peace movement in Scotland, from the aftermath of the second world war, to the ongoing efforts for disarmament today. The exhibition is accompanied by a video (30 minutes) of testimonies with key Scottish CND campaigners, discussing their memories from the peace movement, and why they still think it’s important to keep campaigning after so many years.
The exhibition is ready to come to schools, and is appropriate for all age groups. With your booking, we can arrange for somebody from Scottish CND and Peace Education Scotland to accompany the exhibition and answer questions. We have also produced posters with key information from the exhibition.
Please contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org to request posters, find out more about the exhibition and make a booking for your school!
