Faslane Peace Camp for Kenneth’s Bench

Last Saturday we held an event at Faslane Peace Camp in honour of the late Kenneth McNeil, founder member of Peace Education Scotland, and a member of Scottish CND since its formation in 1958.

Funds were raised very quickly for a memorial bench for Kenneth, and it is now in place at the peace garden at Faslane Peace Camp, with a plaque in his memory.

As several speakers noted, Kenneth wouldn’t like too much fuss about himself – but he would have wanted to focus on the work of Peace Education Scotland, to which he contributed so much.
Please browse around our site for many resources, including our modules and their accompanying videos on the Environmental Costs and Morality of Nuclear Weapons.

You can watch the commemoration event here:

Thanks to all who contributed and came along on the day – the residents of Faslane Peace Camp, our speakers Arthur, David, Kate, Martha and Tom, and to Margaret Ferguson Burns for leading us in song.
