Nuclear Explosions

Nuclear Weapons: Yes or No? is aimed at late primary to early secondary school pupils. Each unit is based around a core booklet, while video and further challenges can be selected at the teacher's discretion.

This pack explains why nuclear weapons cause mass destruction, comparing their power to conventional explosives and detailing blast, heat, and radiation effects.

It includes a video, booklet and worksheets on probability, casualties and radiation exposure. Further challenges cover role play, a nuclear accidents timeline, and grading incidents by INES severity.

Entry-level resource; accessible from upper S1. Probability worksheets link well to Maths. Role-play scenario requires some prior knowledge of nuclear weapons.
