This module looks at how pressure groups like CND and Greenpeace operate, their rights and responsibilities, and how they campaign for change. Includes practical challenges and links to Modern Studies and English at National 4, 5 and Higher.

Part of the Nuclear Weapons Debate series – this module’s activities follow CHECK, WATCH, LEARN, THINK, CHALLENGE structure, with research, design and newsletter work.
This unit directly maps to N4, N5 and Higher Modern Studies pressure groups content (Democracy in Scotland and the UK). It is also creative, with design challenges (poster, T-shirt) which work well for mixed-ability classes. The Rights and Responsibilities exercise is a good standalone activity for PSE/HWB.
