Pack Source: Peace Education Scotland Last Modified: 21/01/2021

A short worksheet covering UN structure, conflict-reduction methods, and the Treaty on the Prohibition of Nuclear Weapons (TPNW). Sections: (1) UN structure and purposes; (2) UN agencies; (3) Conflict-reduction methods; (4) TPNW.

Works well as a standalone research/homework task, or as a follow-up to 0110 (Morality) or 0101 (Nuclear Debate). The TPNW section links directly to the ‘If it is illegal, is it immoral?’ and ‘If you love this planet’ challenges in 0110.

Activities: Gap-fill comprehension (UN charter), Diagram/structure labelling (UN bodies), Matching exercise (conflict-reduction methods), Research task (two UN agencies), Source analysis, Discussion questions (UK/TPNW) and Extended writing
